Workers who need to exercise judgement to sling loads or who direct crane movement from outside the crane operator’s full view (such as with whistle signals or radio)
Dogging consists of two main aspects:
Simply put, someone who engages in dogging is called a Dogger.
Upon completion of this course, you will have fulfilled the necessary requirements for operating a crane mounted to a vehicle, specifically for loading and unloading purposes. This accreditation enables you to operate any vehicle loading crane, including those from Hiab and Palfinger, with a lifting capacity less than 10 metric tonnes.
NOTE: Course price is based on Crane Truck provided for course. Further fees will be applied if FHV need to provide a crane.
Course Outcomes
Enrolling in this course will empower participants with the skills and knowledge needed to attain a National Statement of Attainment and ID card.
Participants will undergo training in the following key areas of skills and knowledge:
1. Planning work
2. Calculations
3. Whistles and hand signals
4. Hazard identification
5. Crane setup and transferring loads
6. Reading load charts
7. Shutting down and securing the crane
